St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. is a private, Catholic school under the parish of San Roque in Cavite City. It was founded in 1945 through the efforts of Msgr. Pedro Lerena, the then parish priest of San Roque Church and Very Reverend Mother Rosario Rosales, the then Superior General of the Congregation of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters. The school opened as the Saint Joseph Institute and was renamed to St. Joseph College two years later.
At present, St. Joseph College provides programs from the preschool level to the graduate level. It is a recognized K-12 institute and offers the Academic and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks for Senior High School (SHS) students. For college students, SJC has undergraduate courses in Nursing, Midwifery, Elementary and Secondary Education, and Hotel and Restaurant Management. For graduate-level students, on the other hand, the institution provides degree programs in Education Management and Nursing Administration. Also available in SJC are certificate programs in Teacher Education and Culinary Arts and TVET courses in Health Care Services and Cookery.
St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. and its programs are duly recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It is also a member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP). Additionally, the Basic Education program currently has a Level II Accreditation Status from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).
