About this course

The Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management is a four-year degree program that equips students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude to provide quality service in the hospitality industry. It contains subjects that will address the needs of different sectors in the hospitality industry such as culinary, front office, tourism, resort, and hotel operations. The program also helps students to develop effective communication and interpersonal skills which are essential in establishing positive customer relations.

Freshman Admission Requirements:

Birth Certificate duly registered with and validated by the Local Civil Registrar (photocopy only). Original copy is needed for verification purposes. 4. Two (2) new, identical 1"x1" photos

Transferees Admission Requirements:
Admission Requirements - Transferees: 1. Certified true copy of grades or transcript of records (only those with not more than 6 units of failure in a semester or a total of 9 units accumulated failure up to the last term attended are eligible for admission). 2. Transfer credentials or honorable dismissal 3. Letter of recommendation from the Principal, Guidance Counselor or Officer of Student Affairs of school of origin 4. Birth Certificate duly registered with and validated by the Local Civil Registrar (photocopy only). Original copy is needed for verification purposes. 5. Two (2) new, identical 1"x1" photos)

Foreign Students Admission Requirements:
Admission Requirements - Foreign Students: 1. Proof of adequate support to cover expenses incidental to studies (including bank certification) 2. Scholastic records authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin. 3. Police clearance certificate issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin or residency duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post. 4. Medical health certificate issued by an authorized medical practitioner in the student’s country of origin including standard sized chest x-ray. 5. Photocopy of visa and passport. 6. Two copies of identical 1” x 1” photos 7. Two copies of identical 2” x 2” photos 8. Original copy of the student’s personal history statement 9. Alien Certification of Registration (ACR) Issued by the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines. 10. Authenticated birth certificate (with English translation) 11. High School diploma or certification of graduation from the school principal.

About the Provider

St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City (SJCQC) is a Franciscan school founded in 1932 as the Saint Joseph’s Academy. It first admitted primary school students, and then secondary school students the following year in its campus along España extension road in Manila. The school had to close down during the Japanese occupation and the Second World War. The school was renamed to St. Joseph’s College in 1948 and opened in Quezon City.

Consequently, the school opened its college department which offered programs in Education, Liberal Arts, Music, and Secretarial Science. Its graduate school program then opened in 1979 offering courses in Education and Staff Development.

The school is home to 5 different departments: Basic Education, Special Education, College of Arts and Sciences, Institute of Nursing, and the Graduate School. Program offerings for bachelor degree include Business Administration, Finance, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Education, Information Technology Social Work, Nursing, and Liberal Arts. Its graduate program specializes in Masters programs in Education, Early Childhood Development and Special Education, Applied Gerontology, and a Ph.D. in Education.
