About the Provider

Cebu Technological University – Carmen Campus is an external campus under the Cebu Technological University system. By the virtue of Republic Act 2700, the campus started as the Quirino School of Fisheries in 1959. In 1964, the school became part of the university system, back when it was still Cebu School of Arts and Trades (CSAT). The Carmen campus became a Regional Institute of Fisheries Technology (RIFT) in 1979, making it part of the Educational Development Projects Implementing Task Force (EDPITAPH) along with seven other schools. Before having its present name, the campus also was known as the CSCST-College of Fisheries Technology.

CTU-Carmen currently provides senior high school and undergraduate programs. Its SHS department offers interested students the STEM and TVL strands. For college students, available are in Marine Engineering, Fisheries, Industrial Technology, Hospitality Management, and Teacher Education. Also offered are diploma programs in Professional Education and in Fishery Technology. Because the university system is covered by the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, students can study their undergraduate courses for free.
