University of Luzon
University
Dagupan City, Pangasinan
University of Luzon (UL) was established in 1948 as a school for commerce and business administration. Due to UL's consistent academic excellence, the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) granted University of Luzon university status when the institution was still known as Luzon Colleges in 2002.
UL offers a wide array of bachelor courses related to the fields of hotel and restaurant management, medical technology, pharmacy, computer studies, nursing, criminology, education, engineering, architecture, business, and liberal arts. UL also provides post-graduate degrees in education, criminology, and public administration. Moreover, the university has a senior high school program in response to the need of providing Grade 11 and 12 education.
Currently, Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) awarded UL as the only higher education institution up north with the highest accredited academic programs. In addition to that, CHEd acknowledged UL as a fully autonomous university and granted the university a Center of Excellence status in criminology. Along with CHEd, the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) certified the university as a Center of Training in Teacher Education.
