About this course

The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) is a four-yea r degree program designed to prepare students to become primary school teachers. The program combines both theory and practice in order to teach students the necessary knowledge and skills a primary school teacher needs. The program aims to produce competent teachers specializing in the pedagogical approach of education.

About the Provider

St. Mary’s College is a private Catholic school in Quezon City. It is the first pontifically approved congregation for women in the Philippines. The Congregation, originally known as the Beaterio de la Compañia de Jesus, was founded in 1684 by Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, a Chinese-Filipino mestiza. It started as one of the first exclusive schools for girls in 1725, but eventually, St. Mary’s College admitted boys in the Grade School after the Second World War in 1945.
            
St. Mary’s College offers Basic Education up to Senior High School. The school gives the student the chance to choose among SHS strands within in the Academic Track, namely Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Science (HumSS), and General Academic Strand (GAS). In the college department, the school offers academic courses such as Communication, Teacher Education, Social Work, Psychology, Office Administration and Accounting Technology.

SMCQC was accredited by the Philippine Accrediting Association for Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). Its High School Department was accredited in 1975 and the Grade School in 1978 which confirms St. Mary’s quality of instruction. Moreover, SMCQC takes pride in maintaining a Level II, deregulated status. It has also been conferred the International Organization for Standardization Certificate according to the applied standards of DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
