About this course

Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) is a four year degree program designed to prepare students for becoming high school teachers. The program combines both theory and practice in order to teach students the necessary knowledge and skills a high school teacher needs. The program aims to produce competent teachers who provide a conducive learning experience to their students.

About the Provider

Saint Rita College Manila, Inc. (SRCM) is a private educational institution located in Plaza del Carmen Quiapo, Manila. It offers Basic Education (Pre-school, Elementary and Junior High School) and Degree Programs in Elementary Education, and Secondary Education (Major in English). It was founded in 1907 as Escuela de Santa Rita providing free education to all preschool girls. By 1911, it was renamed as Colegio de Santa Rita and started conducting classes in primary and intermediate levels. The school began offering college programs by 1945 and was named Saint Rita College.

With the efforts of the AR Sisters and lay personnel, the Basic Education Department got the certificate from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) in 2010 for the Level II Accredited status. SRCM  is affiliated with the Congregation of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines and it is also officially recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and continues to provide quality catholic education up to tertiary level. Undergraduate programs in Teacher Education are readily available to students who want to pursue their education in the institution.
