About this course
As recommended by TESDA Actual duration may be different. In the last several years, the Caregivers have become indispensable to the healthcare field. Clients ranging from the elderly individuals, disabled or healthy, and children, have become reliant on Caregivers to perform a wide range of tasks, and their responsibilities continue to expand as the need for their services grow. The Caregiver training program provides the educational background and skills in the care of the elderly person and child. Certified Caregivers are expected to be knowledgeable in basic health and illness nutrition first aid and emergency personality development and mental health and home management. Reinforcement of communication skills and basic computer background are also included in the curriculum. The Instructional Practicum in the application of theoretical knowledge to the actual situation in the care of the clients is done in the different health agencies under the close supervision of clinical instructors in the home of the aged, orphanage and the Philippine National Red Cross. Job Outlook The job outlook for Caregivers is very positive. Employment of certified Caregivers is expected to grow much faster through the coming years. General prolongation of the life span expectancy through improved medical technologies and better healthcare will fuel the demand for their services. This is significantly noted in the first world countries, where population growth has been minimal in the last couple of decades, resulting in less number of younger individuals in the healthcare workforce to provide care for the elderly and even the young individuals. In the Philippines, the 2.5% population rate does not auger well for the populace. There will be fewer resources for a large number of people, resulting in less people being able to afford higher levels of education. Population growth and a greater number of people getting older will see the demand for personnel, who will need shorter courses to take care of them. » Read the description by FindUniversity.ph
