About this course
The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology is a four (4) year program envisions to prepare and develop students to become globally competitive Accounting Technicians qualified to work in the global workplace. The program’s adequate element of finance and accounting courses qualify the graduates for works in accounting related aspects of commerce, banking & financial institutions. Big opportunities are also open in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies- accounting and finance sections, for BS AT graduates. The BS AT is a non Board program. However, certifications are available for students and graduates such as Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT), Registered Cost Accountant (RCA), Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP). BS AT graduates can also take the qualifying exam for admission in the BS Accountancy program. If qualified, they can pursue additional higher accounting studies to earn the second degree that will make them eligible to take the CPA Licensure examination. The objective of the program is to produce competent professional Accounting Technicians capable of making a positive contribution to the profession and society. Specifically, the BS AT program is designed to: • Prepare students for the tough Certified Accounting Technicians (CAT) Licensure Examinations and Certified Information System Auditors (CISA) and other certifications available in the industry • Prepare students for employment in private establishment and public sector (government agencies). Student Learning Outcomes: • Achieve technical competencies in the following areas: financial reporting, management accounting services, audit and assurance, regulatory and legal framework in business transactions, strategic risk management, advanced accounting and taxation. The competency is at the level as defined by the breadth and dimension required for future Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) • Acquire the essential skills pervasive to a CAT’s work that include critical thinking, effective communication, creating solution to business issues and problems, and informed and adept in the latest business technology tools • Develop enabling attributes to become future accounting professionals who will serve as agents of societal change. Transferees Admission Requirements:Admission Requirements - Transferees: 1. Transferees need to take and pass the FEU-CAT prior to evaluation as a requirement for admission. They also need to ensure that they pass the cut-off scores of the degree programs they are applying for. These can be verified at the Admissions office during their evaluation. 2. Foreign Students Admission Requirements:Admission Requirements - Foreign Students: 1. Secure an INTELAC Referral Form at the Admissions and Financial Assistance (AFA) office located at Room 103 of Arts building.• For those who have TOEFL or IELTS Certificates, no need to have the English Assessment, just present the original certificate. 2. Proceed at the Language Learning Center located at Room 411 of the Arts Building for the INTELAC interview or present the TOEFL or IELTS certificate. 3. About the Provider
Far Eastern University (FEU) was established in 1928 by Dr. Nicanor Reyes, Sr. as the Institute of Accountancy. The Institute began to branch out to other fields of study like economics, business administration, and banking and finance. A year after its establishment, it became the Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance (IABF). In 1933, IABF partnered with then Far Eastern College which offered courses in the liberal arts, giving birth to FEU.
FEU was granted an Autonomous status in 2016 which allowed them to open new campuses. This gave way to the establishment of FEU - Makati. The campus in Makati offers Law, Accountancy, Business, and Information Technology. FEU Makati aims to continue the tradition of FEU Manila's history of excellence in Accounting and Business Education.
FEU is recognized as a Center of Development in Business Administration by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).
