About this course
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is designed to provide outcome- based IT training that is not only nationally accredited but also globally competitive. It aims to produce graduates who will be professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development. The program is a study of the utilization of computers and computer software to plan, install, customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure. It prepares students to be IT professionals well versed on application, installation, operation, development, maintenance and administration of IT hardware and software. The curriculum is based on the standards set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is benchmarked from the curricula of leading academic institutions, national and international, offering similar business programs and addresses the needs of the industry. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) In three to five years after graduation, the Information Technology alumni shall: 1. Practice as Information Technology professionals for the advancement of society 2. Promote professionalism in the area of Information Technology. Student Outcomes (SOs) The program must enable students to attain, by the time of graduation: An ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the program’s student outcomes and to the discipline. An ability to analyze a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to it's solution. An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs. An ability to function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal. An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. An ability to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations and society. Recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in continuing professional development. An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice. An ability to use and apply current technical concepts and practices in the core information technologies. An ability to identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and administration of computer-based systems. An ability to effectively integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment. An understanding of best practices and standards and their application. An ability to assist in the creation of an effective project plan. About the Provider
AMA College Makati is a branch of the AMA Colleges under the AMA Education System, the country’s first and largest ICT university in the Philippines. The school provides a wide array of courses which include, Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Mass Communication, Nursing, and Psychology.
The institution is one of the biggest campuses of AMA Colleges.
